Frequently
asked questions
What online tools will we use to hold your chess lessons?
For our chess online lessons we will use Skype and my digital chess board. It is highly convenient because you will be able to move chess pieces during the class. Also all material from the lesson will be saved on your computer!
What age groups do you teach?
I teach kids from 6 y.o. and adults.
How much is it for one chess class?
It’s $175 per 1 lesson (60 minutes). Also there are discounts if you pay for 5 classes ( $825) or for 10 chess classes ($1550).
How long is the duration of an online chess lesson?
60 minutes. With very experienced students, it can be 120 minutes.
How to schedule the lessons with you?
Just contact me and we will choose the most convenient days and times for you. I prefer a fixed schedule because regular chess classes are more effective. But it can be flexible if you are too busy.
What do I need for the first lesson?
Just Teams and an account on lichess.org website.
Do you send a homework for your students?
Yes, I do! After each lesson. And of course, discuss all the mistakes after.
What’s the difference between learning with a Grandmaster and a regular coach?
A Grandmaster brings professional tournament experience and deep understanding of strategy and decision-making. I focus not only on tactical skills but also on your thinking process, practical endgames, and how to convert advantages — just like in real GM preparation.
Can you help me prepare for tournaments or improve my online rating?
Absolutely. I coach students preparing for OTB tournaments, FIDE events, and online platforms like Lichess and Chess.com. Training includes opening repertoire, time management, and mental preparation for competitions.
Do you work with complete beginners?
Yes, I teach students from complete beginners to advanced tournament players. Every program is personalized, so even new players start improving from the first sessions.
Which platforms or time zones do you teach in?
I work with students from all around the world and adapt to your time zone. Lessons are usually held on Teams with a Lichess analysis board.
