Student results & reviews

Choosing the right chess coach is about much more than rating and titles. It is very important that a coach knows how to find the right approach for each student, build a trusting relationship, always support and motivate them.
On this page, you will find more than 120 real reviews that I have received from students with different backgrounds over the years of working as a chess coach. I work with children, teenagers, and adults across the United States, Canada, and other countries. Some students came to me with the goal of improving their results in professional chess tournaments, while others wanted to increase their online rating. Regardless of their goals, I always enjoy helping my students make meaningful progress.
Every review comes from a real student or parent and can be read and verified on the educational platform Superprof.

Initially, Lucas’s parents simply wanted to support his interest in chess by enrolling him in lessons with me. Today, however, they are seriously considering his future prospects as a competitive chess player.

I decided to include Walter’s story because breaking the 1600 barrier had been a major goal of his for a long time. He came close several times, only to see his rating drop again. The rating increase may not look huge, but I know how much reaching this milestone means to him!
